how much delay compensation

Post by jackjack » Sat Nov 14, 2009 4:34 am

Hello,

I have the following:

Image

The audio is being triggered from ableton as a midi clip, going to a hardware synth and back.
The midi is set to play on beat. The delay in the recorded waveform is the delay from the synth
back into the audio interface.

How do I calculate the track delay offset to use? Are the numbers at the bottom miliseconds, ie.
roughly 50 ms? I tried that and it is not right. 25 ms or so sounds correct.

In this particular case I realize I could also just move the loop up to the start of the audio.
But I'm curious in general how to determine this.

Thanks.
