First question is about warping, Live often leaves a bar or two out of the intro, or seems to think a different beat (2,3 or 4) is the start of the bar, so often I find it difficult to properly sync things up properly. Is there any good guides on warping whole tracks to use in a DJ set?
Any other advice would also be appreciated as I have no real experience with DJ'ing at all and got a couple of people trying to get me to do a set and wouldn't want to appear completely retarded!

Heres the best advice i can give ya..
Ok well for me I warp every track everytime open the track view click the Warp button so its on, and delete out all the yellow warp markers till there is only one....
Then drag that first warp marker to were you think the first beat aka first Kick drum of the track is.
Now go down to the loop section and turn it on make the position 1, and length 1 as well
as the track is playing that same loop over and over again use the arrow keys to increase you loop POSITION by 1 full bar every time, and scroll through the track eyeballing the bass kicks and making sure they are were they should be, (Right on the line)
If it is getting off click the number uptop that postion till you have a yellow marker, and drag it to the proper place.
Do this for whole song set ending loop and your good to go.
On other tip find a song with a really simple bass line, and have that properly warped and looping for about 4 to 8 bars, so you can use it as a metronone this works really well when your dealing with tracks that are hard to loop by spotting or just hearing by its self.
Cheers....and let the beats roll

Re: Yet another thread on DJ'ing with Live.
Take the time and warp your tracks you think you'll use beforehand.
Open the tracks up, completely disregard what 8 has to say for the most part, and look at the start of the wavform, right click and choose set 1.1 here. Play it through w/metronome, see if it works, and then if it does, keep it. if not, warp away. I use ableton and the APC40 as my preferred DJ setup, so versatile and really allows you to do alot. PM me if you want tips.
