really simple tempo change question

Post by kilowogster » Wed Nov 18, 2009 5:49 am

hey all,

I have a quick question, i'm a bit embarassed I can't figure this out myself, but here goes.

I'm putting together a song in session view, and want a tempo change between 2 chunks of the song. how do I go about doing that? It's easy enough to insert a time signature change, but i can't figure out how to do an actual tempo change.

I'm going from memory here, but I'm pretty sure that in Arrangement View there's a Tempo track (down at the bottom if I'm not mistaken), that allows you to draw in automation. It's definitely there. You could could also use a controller to change the tempo while recording (providing the master record is armed).

If you really want to do it in Session View you can include a tempo in the scene launch name (i.e. Chorus 96 BPM) and it should cause a hard tempo change (not ramped). Of course you've probably figured that out since May. :P
