Can't get Jitter working in M4L. Says "view disabled"

Post by mtn » Sat Nov 21, 2009 7:26 pm

Hi, I'm trying to make a simple patch that just loads a video and plays it, but in both the jit.qt.pwindow and jit.window objects, instead of playing a video, it just says "View Disabled"

Has anyone run into this?

In Max:

Help > Max for Live > Max vs. Max for Live (RH box) > "Jitter Limitations" heading

"When authorized only via Live, the visual display of the jit.window and jit.pwindow objects are crippled. This limitation does not exist inside Live itself, or when Max and Jitter are authorized."

i'll tack a noob question on to this topic, since it relates...

so does this limitation mean that when using jitter, all video output is done through live's own "video window", or can m4l patches be built with their own "video outs" for presentation?

Expect all the normal stuff to work inside of the Ableton environment. This limitation only applies to the editor.
