Dell Studio 17 - Multitouch laptop

dell announced that there will be a 17" multitouch notebook with a 1600x900 resolution...
thought would share and add the fact that i think the hinges would break after a week of real usage...
at least if one gets into the groove and starts fingering the screen for reals...

Re: Dell Studio 17 - Multitouch laptop
Definitely worth waiting for reports on, but it's pretty dammed cool IMO that it's out!
Re: Dell Studio 17 - Multitouch laptop
I think this is the most stupid concept that I have seen up till now! A tablet, yes that would make some sense but a laptop with a touchscreen? Have fun with the cramps in your wrist.... ouch!
Do they have no brain? I actually like Dell laptops though I use mac's but this thing is just silly or can someone explain to me why and for what this should be practical...

I just saw a commercial this weekend for a Sony touch screen desktop monitor/system.
Seems this concept is finally reaching the average consumer. I'm surprised Apple has been sitting on their hands for so long on this one after years and years of rumors.

I hate getting smudges on my screen.
Besides, at that resolution most of the little doohickies in Live and Vst's are too small to control accurately.

Ask if they have dirty hands! They can wash to. But yeah, it want work every time. Sometimes its easy to forget. I used to keep my Virus Polar clean, but during after-party jams etc, you really don't think about it.Anubis wrote:But what if somebody else wants to touch my thing?ze2be wrote:Wash your hands first.Anubis wrote:I hate getting smudges on my screen.

You've never messed with an iPhone then?Anubis wrote:I hate getting smudges on my screen.Besides, at that resolution most of the little doohickies in Live and Vst's are too small to control accurately.
The sales and ease of use of the dammed thing prove all naysayers wrong. Kudos to Dell for adding both a keyboard and screen to the thing.
Jesus? I swear to god most people are so insanely ridiculous about aesthetics, to the point of reducing usability in favor of ergonomic simple garbage.
