Crashing, force quitting, no freeze/consolidate trapped!

Hello, I am at my wits end in trying to work with this song. The song has 22 Audio files. 17 of them are Stereo. I read in the manual that I should try to convert these to Mono. I try to consolidate them so that I can do that and Live freezes at the 27% mark every time. Freeze is exactly the same.
The main problem are the Audio dropouts and the Hard Disk overload indicator flashing like mad. If I open another song than the problem is no longer there. The only difference with this song was that I imported audio that I had developed in Logic9. I cannot imagine why this would be a problem but apparently it must be.
