"Selected Track" commands?

Post by brownbathrobe » Thu Nov 26, 2009 3:16 pm

Hi folks,
I've recently begun using Ableton Live as a guitar looping platform.
It's going really well so far but I'm wondering about something.
At the moment I have my MIDI foot controller set up so that each track has its own "Launch", "Mute" and "Solo" footswitch, like this:

"Track 1 Launch"
"Track 1 Mute"
"Track 1 Solo"
"Track 2 Launch"
"Track 2 Mute"
"Track 2 Solo"
"Track 3 Launch"
"Track 3 Mute"
"Track 3 Solo"
(etc...)

This works pretty well but it's a lot of footswitches to map and remember.
I thought it might be nice if there was a way to map commands which affect the selected track, like this:

"Launch Selected Track"
"Mute Selected Track"
"Solo Selected Track"

That would really open things up in terms of flexibility, especially if I could assign footswitches to navigate, like this:

"Select Next Track"
"Select Previous Track"
"Select All Tracks"
"Select All Except"

Does anyone know if this is possible?
Thanks in advance!
