One way is to set markers in the arrangement and map the markers to a button.

Put the cursor where you would like to set a marker and in the top right section of the arrangement view you will see a "set" button with 2 arrows either side.

Set some markers as you need them and map the set button and 2 arrow buttons to either pc keyboard or midi controller. The numpad buttons can be handy for mapping the actual markers. This because you can map Marker 1 to Numpad 1 and so on.

Hope this helps.

You cannot traverse the cursor on a track without using the mouse like Pro Tools that allows for tabbing to transients and tabbing to beggining and end of regions. Sorry!

i'm on pc, but for me it just a case of ctrl e to split then hit the right arrow key to move the split cursor to the next bit
maybe its not the same on a mac
