Guys, i'm trying to get a similar sounding bassline.. Its kinda bouncy.. Like a really quick attack.. It sounds like its possibly a sample? What you guys think? THanks in advance!!!!!!

That sounds like a drum to me rather than a synth. Like a pitched down tom I would guess. Some kind of low frequency synth drum made from a pure sine wave with a pitch envelope.

i used to have a book where kevin saunderson spelled out some of his production secrets, but alas, do not have it now.


btw, hercules and love affair seemed to get the "sound" right with this track over here -- a pretty convincing rip of the inner city original:

Actually I wasn't talking about the pulsating bass. I'm talking about the low bassline in the song. But ya, i didn't even know the sample your talking about is from another song.. Geez. thanks man!!!!
