Hearing output of the Returns only using the crossfader

Post by stockwell » Sun Dec 13, 2009 5:52 pm

Hello,

I'm trying to set up my Live Set to enable me to only hear the output of the Returns when I move the crossfader to position A.

So, for example, I have a resonator on Return Track A and I'm sending several audio tracks to the resonator via sends. Using the crossfader I'd like to be able to fade out the main (Master) output until I only hear the output of the resonator.

Can anyone help me with this? I can't quite work out how to get there...

Thanks.

OK, I think I've worked this out...

I've sub-mixed all of my midi & audio tracks to another 'submix' audio track and have not selected A or B for the crossfader of those original midi & audio tracks. On the new submix track I've selected 'No input' (Audio From), 'In' (Monitor), 'Master' (Audio To) and set the crossfader to 'B'.

My effects are on Return Tracks and they are set to 'A' on the crossfader.

Now, the crossfader gives the full mix when at the central A/B position.
When it's full over to 'A' I'm getting the output of the effects on the Return Tracks only.
When it's full over to 'B' I'm getting the output of the submix track only (ie. the 'dry' output of the midi & audio tracks' with no effects).
