let me start off by saying I am very much a n00b to live and all audio software in general. The question that I have is, when I try to select midi files and play them in live there is never any sound. The green lights indicate that they are playing, but no sound comes out.
In my preferences in the midi/sync tab it says:

Computer Keyboard
Output:
Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synt
does anybody know what the problem may be?
Live 4 not playing midi..
midi doesnt produce sound, its data that is played by an instrument in live think of it like this u press a key, midi is sent from ur keyboard which creates a note that note is sent to the synth/vst which then creates the audio.
with using ur soundcard
in the miditrack make should be like this
midi from =keyboard
all channels
the monitor button should be "on"
midi to =Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synt
if that doesnt work when u press the keybaord u have to change your settings in the prefs..
