midi retrigger

Post by hydraphonic » Mon Oct 11, 2004 4:07 am

Hi,

I have a midi clip that plays a long pad sound. The clip is 16 bars, but I would like that the pad sound is not re-triggered when the clip plays second (or third, etc) time around.

Is this possible?

Thanks,

So you basically want the midi file to stop looping? There's a loop button in the clip view.

No I wouldn't say I wanted it to stop looping.

When the clip starts for the second time, I want it to know that the clip was already playing the same note (or notes) that go to the end of the clip, and therefore not do a note-on/note-off of those notes, but just leave them playing.

This is a feature in my MC-505 useful for long pad sounds. I can't remember exactly what it's called, but it's almost a necessity in loop based sequencers, I'd say.

Thanks,
