Session notes

Post by bigbass » Fri Sep 13, 2002 10:52 am

Hi Live-Folks,

wouldn't it be a good idea to have some 'session notes', stored in/with the song, maybe just a little white nothing that could pop-up.

then people like me (who tend to forget the next chord/scene/whatever - as there are so many possibilities...) could write down some (maybe) usefull information about what was/is/willbe going on in this song, why it is there, or what is the question to 42???

bassy regards,
benjamin

( what else did i want to say??? damn, forgot to write it in the notes...)

a similar idea floated aaround a while back, but in releation to clips, so you can say things like "this is in the key of d minor, sounds good with loop X/, etc"

I think it could fit where the current little info box is (left side bottom corner), and maybe when you have a clip selected you see that info, when no clip, you see the 'overall note'

Hi SongCarver,

even better, individual notes for each clip (though more space on disc needed...)

the info box, yeah, thats where i would see it, too :)

bassy,

Yo Ableton, you listening to this one? It would be great!

Even if you could do an Edit Info Text for the Master Out or something as a dedicated place. Or a hot key that takes you to Session Notes in the Info Clip area.

This is a great feature that I used in Logic all the time. Would be nice to see it in Live.

You guys do know that editable info texts already exist?
They appear in the info box

Sadly there's no visible flags once you add a text to an element, so you may as well write your note on a piece of paper then throw it out of the window. It will be just as easy to find later.
