Ozonic drivers for Windows 7 = No Sound or Midi

Post by Abzurd » Sun Jan 03, 2010 4:37 am

Those basterds at M-Audio have pissed me off yet again.

Has anyone got M-Audio's Ozonic drivers for Windows 7 to work? I have tryed everything.

Even tried to work with Asio 4 All drivers for sound and use Ozonic for midi. Nothing works.

I have a new HP Pavilion dv7 64bit 1.60 i7 laptop. At 1st I thought it might be a problem with live but Ozonic hasn't worked with any of my sound gear.

Hey jamief. I've installed & removed it 3 times without success.

I see that you own the new Melodyne DNA. How do you like it?

Hi there - I use the Ozonic M-Audio too.
Bought a HP dv7 Pavilion (Q9000, 2.00-Quad) - I upgraded from Vista64 to Win7-64 (via HomePremium) - but didn't search the net for all the problems with these machines :? .
I run NI Reaktor 5 and Kore-Player as VSTi (and many others)- external stuff like mic , guitar, Kaossilator and Roland-Synth GR-20 over the Ozonic - allready with Ableton 5-7.
These where all running over my Desktop - P4 541, 3.200 WinXP - no problem at all!
Installed Ableton Live 8.1 and plugged the Ozonic to the notebook - 4GBram.
No Emulation-Mode :!:
I deactivated ALL internal soundcards - devices first, installed the new M-Audio (Avid)-Drivers and plugged the external power supply. Ozonic is connected to the internal FireWire (without) power support - I suppose there is a AGERE-chipset onboard the Pavillion - but I was not able to detect yet  . Hardwaremanager does not show the type.
From the first time reboot of the new setup up to the third or fourth restart of my HPPav-notebook no reaction - the onboard soundchips popped up once more - don't know why 8O ?
The FREE KorePlayer (Native Instruments, available for Win7) was the first program that detected SOMETHING - but couldn't produce a tune! And then after another restart - running the machine down - not rebooting - there was a sound from Win7 through the Ozonic  .
How to start: Oznic power on FIRST - wait few seconds untill Ozonic comes thru all self tests.
Then start the HP-NB make sure ther is no other sound device active in Win7. If you hear the system sound coming from the Ozonic - Ableton will work fine with the Ozonic and additional VSTi. Reaktor 5-VSTi runs only in one instance in a stable way - FREE Kore-Player works fine.
Most important: Ozonic power on first - then NB - without any onboard sound device - try a few restarts. Best regards Seelensack
add: uninstall Asio4All!!! New M-Audio drivers are working well ...

Add - ASIO4ALL has been fixed - 2.10beta seems to be working well on the HP Pavilion dv7 2140eg.
I installed new Audio-Drivers IDT-HD from HP-Support.
Now all audio devices (Ozonic - IDT-HD Audio and HDMI-Audio) are present in the config options and working in Ableton Live 8.1.1.
