Ypsi Kid - Natural Reaktion - Tech House
Ypsi Kid - Natural Reaktion - Tech House
Another tracky tech-house piece I just finished up. This one came together nicely in-between 2 house tracks I'm working on, gotta love it when tracks come together nice and quickly. A bit tracky with a nice groove and some good Bass.

Thanks for listening man!
The Unknown future was posted on this board last month, maybe you came across it there? It's an old radio sample that I lifted a while back and used in a track about 8-9 years ago (never released). Thanks again for the kind comments, appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed my stuff....

Speaking about the bass... way too much low end... I bet if you play this in your car you will hear it boom. The track has very little dynamics otherwise and very redundant even for Tech House.
I didn't comment on Unknown Future you posted back on Dec 18 and listening to it hear again, I remember why. The song like your new post is 1 demensional. Both post have lots of potential but they just never develope. Not to say that I don't appreciate the share because we are all learning and experimenting with the tools of the trade. I remain interested in your growth and look forward to hearing more from you as you improve.

Appreciate the honesty TL. I've been working on getting my low end to 'pop' cuz if you listen to my older tracks they lack thump (so I've added sub bass underneath the bass track to give it presence, along with some eq'ing on the kick and bass). I've listened to this on a few different headphones and speaker setups - guess I'll have to work on that some more. I definitely agree that I've over-compressed the bottom end - something that I'm still trying to learn and have yet to get down a decent approach. I'll keep working on that.
Now, I understand where you are coming from when you mention it's one-dimensional. I think I asked you about this on a track I posted a while back. What do you recommend to make the track less one dimensional (I'm assuming your going to say variety here - in terms of melody hooks and drums)? I think it's important to remember that the context of the track should be thought of in a mixed set. So while it doesn't stand on it's own, I think it would sit real nice in a mix (as you can tell, I have a thing for repetition (is this what you mean by one-dimensional?) - not sure if you are familiar with something called "Tone Shifting" that can take place with repetitive material - interesting stuff and kind of the principle I use when approaching tracks). Anyways, that's the perspective I'm coming from, but am interested in hearing your take on making the tracks less one dimensional. Any and all feedback is great - and I agree TL, we're all here to learn from each other, I think we can all appreciate that approach.
Thanks again TL...
