Hi, hi,
I have some questions for all y'all out there using Live + a live band. We have 4 tracks of backing tracks for each song, and multiple songs in multiple tempos. Ideally, we don't want to have to keep opening sessions for each song, so I'm trying to figure out the best setup. Right now we have all the songs across the timeline in Arrangement mode.
Some of the songs have loops in them that we're toggling on/off with a MIDI controller, so that's problem #1. I've made markers for each loop, but since you can only have one loop per arrangement, one of us will have to run over and move the loop.
Problem #2 is not really a problem, I just want to make sure I'm doing it right. We're automating the tempo changes in the Master track, is there a more precise way? Right now I'm just recording myself changing the tempo and copy/pasting it to the right place.
What should we do? Thanks in advance for your tips-n-tricks!
Multi-Song Setup Help
Re: Multi-Song Setup Help
another way to hit exact tempos in the master track was to use a midi assignment to the master tempo, and temporarily set the range hi or low at the target value.
then when you use the midi controller, it will stop a that limited value..
or make a scene with all clip stop buttons removed across all tracks. then you can name that scene XXX BPM and trigger it (+quantization) while punched in, to imprint that tempo on the master track tempo envelope
