I just bought the XILS-3LE "no brainer" special at audiomidi
I originally had the demo loaded, but upon purchase, I uninstalled the demo and installed the purchase version.
The purchase was set up where you got links to download the program and LATER, you would receive the serial necessary to activate the plug.
I was stoked from the purchase so I was ready to play with XILS-3LE... I thought it would load in a demo mode...
What I did not know is that when I installed the purchase version of XILS-3LE and ran L8 *prior* to having the serial, L8 "overlooks" XILS 3LE plug on all subsequent scans! (purchase version of XILS-3LE does NOT have a demo option!
So even though I opened L7, registered/authorized the XILS-3LE there...when I open L8, the scan skips XILS-3LE!
I understand that this is not a big deal for people with a reasonable number of vst's:
all you have to do is find Live's "preferences.cfg" file, delete that and then run L8. Live re-creates the preferences.cfg file and it re-initalizes a fresh "global" scan of all vsts...
...But for some of us who have a metric ton of vsts, a fresh rescan can and DOES take AGES to get thru!
I might suggest- some way to show the entirety of ones vst directory with some sort of indicator (active or non-active) status for the vsts and a check box that might allow for a selective re-scan of "skipped" or "inactive" vsts...
It's not a debilitating issue, but it is one that is time consuming to fix...for *some* of us!
