M4L edu discount?

Why is Max for Live only discounted in a bundle? I'm assuming it has something to do with Cycling but it would be really great if it was there was a discount on just M4L for college kids that shamelessly spend all of their money on gear/software instead of food.

buy max5 for student discount from cycling and then buy the cross over for like 80 i tihnk it is
