Okay I've got something completely different for you

Post by Stigglits » Sat Feb 13, 2010 9:43 am

Vlantis, you've been wanting to hear some vocals, and I finally have them for you! Since I'm so terrible and coming up with lyrics for my own songs, I just did a cover of somebody else's. A cover of "You Send Me" by Sam Cooke, to be exact, which is going to be WAY different than most of the other stuff that is posted in this thread (including the stuff I post). Super lo-fi and reverby though, which I like. Slash I just started learning guitar like a month and a half ago, so it's very basic stuff. Anyways, hope you enjoy!

Somehow I really liked it haha, very different indeed, but very relaxing and spacey
good work.

This is pretty nice.

I can imagine the "you send me" bit sampled in some jungle song. High contrast Kiss kiss bang bang style. That was randomly the first thing that came to my mind.

But well sung. I just started learning guitar myself. Need to buy new strings though. Broke one of my mine.

Whoooooa! What happened to all your mixing skills? Not just lo-fi, not even close to a decent mix. As if you were detached from your computer all together. The worst mix I've heard in a long time. Is this indicative to the difference using ITB sampled loops verses real musical instruments and a mic? OMG. Truth be told, you have a decent voice and should try to implement it into your tracks (of the other kind) and find someone to help you with lyrics. I know it's a difficult task but you may be surprised. Don't take what I said seriously. You know you have my total respect and I'm just pulling your chain as usual. Thanks for sharing again.
