Any good audio pitch shift patches?

Post by benjamingordon » Mon Feb 15, 2010 12:39 am

Hey everyone...

I want to be able to transpose/pitch my audio on my track at anytime during my set...

As i have every song cut into bits/clips i cant just map the transpose button as it will only transpose on the currently selected clip...

Any ideas would be cool... :)

In the Pluggos, there's the SpectralHarm.
In the maxforlive lessons there's also a transposer and an harmonizer, it's in the "building blocks" lesson I think, or in the audio device lesson.

If you want high quality audio shifting, have a look at these externals:

http://www.elasticmax.co.uk/

or a free one:

thanks but these look like you have to load a sample into them as opposed to being able to put it on a track as an audio effect...?

It's not in the Pluggos but in the max audio effect>tools.

don't forget that fft-based pitch shifting (e.g the Harmonizer) introduces some latency due to the block based processing.

Pretty sure the internal Live algorithm is better than that.

id love to use the live one but there isnt a way of applying it in ratio to all the audio clips on 1 track unless you select them all...

i havent got time to do that live...

I build a M4L device that can control the transpose function of any audio clip in the set. Just use one device for each clip that you want to transpose.

how do i paste that code into a device?

that patch is great but i need it to pitch/transpose the whole track, not the current clip...

drag an empty max audio device into the track, open it and then right click paste the code.... I still amazes me when i do it....

Cheers
