no sound

Post by fred » Fri Sep 20, 2002 2:39 am

first off, hi to the group. if this program does what it says on the tin, i will be very psyched about it... but i can't get any sound out of it yet. i'm running OS9 on a new dual gig G4 with an RME 9636 and RME ADI-8DS.
i am a Live newbie. just installed and unlocked it. put the RME ASIO driver in the ASIO folder under the resources folder in Live. i started up Live, selected the RME ASIO driver in audio preferences, configured the hardware etc... when i load the demo song and hit play - no sound comes out and the output lights on the ADI-8DS don't light up. if i quit out of Live and start up Logic 5, it works fine with the RME ASIO driver - sound goes in and comes out. i also just noticed that, in Live, if i select the sound manager instead of ASIO and make sure the system volume is up - no sound comes out. 8O 8O 8O 8O whas goin' on???

i just realized that when i press play with the demo file loaded, the level meters on Live's mixer don't light up at all. the song is playing, i can see the cursor moving across the overview of the arrange window, but the level meters don't show any level at all. very weird. any help?

indeed, just imagine what one could do if there would be a way to do this for all tracks simultaniously with one click........
