beat delay options in session view clips (for simple delay)

Post by noise » Mon Feb 15, 2010 10:53 pm

as it stands presently- simple delay has two modes: time delay and sync delay.

When simple delay is in time delay mode, it is possible to create an envelope in arrangement view, copy that envelope and paste it to a session view clip
OR
you can also just draw unlinked envelopes for your "time" delay modulation targets.

This allows you to set up unlinked envelopes in session view clips that change the delay times.
By doing so, you can use these clips to change the delay times.
if simple delay is set to "time" mode, one can play an instrument thru simple delay with ever changing delay times via those copied or drawn envelopes. It's a wonderful and dynamic effect.

Why is it not possible to do the exact same thing when simple delay is set to "sync" mode?

In arrangement view "sync" delay parameter is available in the modulation targets drop down as "beat delay" , but in session view, there is NO OPTION for "beat delay"! :? ....

I'm using 8.1.1 and just checked in 7.0.14 (tried to check in 6.0.10 but something I've installed recently doesn't agree with L6, so I can't test there  )

Has simple delay always been set up this way?

If so, can we have the L+R "beat delay" options for session view clips added to the drop down choices for simple delay in an upcoming incremental update ? :P

Thanky ;)
