Hi
I have Ableton 8 trial
I want to get a keyboard controller(K-C), i want a low price K-C that ableton recognize plug & play without mapping.
I will use this for personal entertainment at home.
I see there's alot of Keyboard out there, some 25 and 88.
Can I use a 25 and still able to play all notes from G8 to C2 ? Or I need an 88 (longer) keyboard ?
Maybe something else cheaper, Have from G8 to C2 mapped to my keyboard instead, is this possible ? yes, how? tutorial anywhere?
If you have any suggestion or advise feel free to tell me.
Thank you

Re: Keyboard Controller Buying question
Most (all?) smaller keyboards - 25 or 49 key - have octave up/down shift buttons on them so that you can play the same range as a full size keyboard a few octaves at a time.
Pretty much any MIDI keyboard will be recognised by Live no problem - all of these - http://www.thomann.de/gb/cat.html?gf=ma ... eys&oa=pra - for example.

Yes, you use keys on the keyboard to shift octave up/down. I want to say the z and x keys off the top of my head. All that info should be in your manual as well.speedjr wrote:Is it possible to map G8 to C2 on the original keyboard ? (PC, not controller)
