why is the ableton browser lagging?

the browser is lagging and i dont know why, its a problem because if im performing this is unnacceptable.

I notice it starts doing it when i save split tracks. Could this have anything to do with it? or is my live set just too big?

this happens to me almost every time with Live 8. I didn't get this as much with live 7. I am not sure if it is because of my controllers or something? I started using the apc40 with 8 so perhaps there is some kind of communication going on?

I always get lags on the #3 folder browser. Only that one though. Even if I change the location or the disk it's associated to, only #3 lags. I just stick to the first 2 now.

it's intermittent tho
at first I thought it was the hard drives that my samples were on but now im not so sure
