Selecting audio interface input freezes/crashes Live.

Here's some info on my setup: Macbook Pro OSX Version 10.5.8, Ableton Live 8.1.1, Digidesign Mbox2, APC40, Pioneer DJM-600, 2 Technics 1200's, Serato Scratch Live. (Can't wait for the Bridge to be released BTW) Anyways, I'm having a problem connecting my interface. When I open the preferences>audio>audio input device tab, and select my Digidesign Mbox2, It freezes everthing in live and my cursor turns to the wait icon, and nothing in live will work. If I unplug the interface, Live crashes completely. I have checked for driver updates for the Mbox2, and everthing is up to date. The output works fine. I can send audio out of Live, just not in. What can I do?
