4.0.4 an AU plug-ins problem

Dear All
in spite of having activated the AU plugs in the preference, each time I try to launch an AU plug... live crashes ///
Am I alone in this situation ?
Any help would be great...

ps : all those AU plugs work normally otherwise / and live works perfectly when not using AU plugs...

Do also crash the Apple Audio Units? If yes, are you on Mac OS X 10.2? If so, make sure you download and install the newest Quicktime update.
