osx-does anybody use live in a midi setup---HELP ME!

cant get live to sync/play in osx, with midi gear, live is slave to external gear...thru midi man 2x2...help, tell me your setup for comparison!

sync is not looking good in OSX ver of Live

I cant get LIVE to slave to anything in OS X

Also, AFAIK, the latency compensation is not working either, which probably doesn't help

this is all in Live , running 10.15 on a Tascam 428

Ableton, can you comment on this??

I'd also like to know what is going on with this....a long-standing issue.
I don't know what is the source of the problem. I wish ANYONE who is getting good osx sync would comment, because it seems there have been sporadic successes, but primarily, failures. For instance, I know WaTTz has gotten sync with his cube/jaguar, but he and I have had no luck with our Tibooks/Jaguar/2x2's. This is so critical, and I'm completely disheartened. I wonder if Ableton could do some osx sync testing and confirm any troubles/solutions, please.

hey lasers,

if u are in OS X now then can you pull up Live, and have a look into the latency section of the audio pane, preferences.

the bit where you type a negative number to make everything in-time.

Try routing audio back into Live through your hardware
(remember to turn down the fader on that track or you will get BAAAD feedback!!)

I always get a delay on the new recorded track.. it should be almost identical, yes?

now muck around with the number in that box.

as far as i can see it does nothing...
can you confirm this?

Hey Songcarver,

I am far away from even my imic, until tonight (probably tomorrow for you). I've never tried routing Live's audio back in through hardware, but I'll try it as soon as I can and let you know what happens...
My postings are like a hit and run accident!

I dunno WTF is wrong with this sync issue. At first I thought it was my Midisport drivers but it's not. Funny that there was no problem with my G4 Cube but only with TiBooks.

Ableton, are you aware of this problem? There must be some sort of hardware difference between desktop G4s and powerbook G4s. I wish somebody from Ableton support can at least admit there is a problem and fix it!
