Help with simple bass question

Post by domtak » Sun Mar 07, 2010 5:28 pm

Hello

I've got an Operator patch which is a simple Sine wave set to fixed at 44hz. I'm wanting a nice flat sub sonic sound but when I play the sound back there is a definite trough in the levels. I'm trying to achieve a flat sound - like the one you can get from the Test Tone option within the Preferences panel - that is solid & flat and doesn't seem to go quieter a second in and then go loud again.

I'm guessing the fluctuation is the sine wave itself is that correct? If so is there anyway to avoid this?

Thanks in advance!

Dom

sine is constant here... volume levels constant at -12
maybe u have an lfo active or so?

- create midi track - insert empty operator - turn off all oscillators apart from osc A - set to fixed, enter your 44hz - done...

if you still have issues.. i can only suggest that you see what the quiet level is and put a limiter behind it so it doesnt get louder..

or, record some of the constant signal to audio...

after a while listening to the sine i also sometimes perceive it to be fluctuating.. but it think thats all in my head:P

anyway, good luck=)

It might be your room or your speakers.
