Why do betas expire on weekends?

Pretty obvious.. they work up to the end of the week.. upload the new beta.. and than its WEEKEND

But...

Is that a wise move?
Considering that most gigs by strange accident happen on weekends?
And that many users was forced into the beta trap by the actual state of the official release..

It actually worrys me a bit to see such a weekend mentality..
my life in the hands of employes... scary..
