Anyone running Live 7 on Snow Leopard successfully?

Post by oblique strategies » Fri Mar 19, 2010 8:32 pm

:?:

It's been about 7 months since any word on this from Ableton.

From Ableton, August 27, 2009:
"Will Live 7 be compatible with Mac OS X 10.6?

It is likely that Live 7 will also be compatible but we can't promise it before internal tests are finished."

i am on snow leo and have to play live in a few weeks..just wanted to do everything again on L7...

are you suggesting that L7 is not working with snow leo?

it opens and runs fine.. but i havent loaded it heavily yet..

Did you had real issues or are you just expecting it to dont work?

I am following up on an Ableton post:

I added this info to my original post: please refer back to it for details.

Glad to hear that Live 7 opens & runs fine in Snow Leopard for you. Let us know if it remains stable, or if it is problematic. Thanks.

Internal test means users like us testing it...

i actually expect it to work better than L8.. please dont scare me if you dont had issues yourself...
I got a bit crash paranoid lately..

I am not on Snow Leopard, & can't test it myself. I would like very much to be on Snow Leopard, but need to know if Live 7 is stable on it. Hence my question.

Got it. I hope that some more people report in. I really want to migrate to Snow Leopard, but want to have at least one version of Live that is stable!

Good luck with your gig.

i have an extrenal HD with OS 10.58 for emergency reason.. a small usb powered external drive...
dont cost much theese days when you dont need them 500 gb and 7200 rpm...

so far snowleo seems to be pretty compatible with the majority of applikations... Logic runs much better.. my nord modular editor is crashig often lately ...too often.. but i actualy think that thos is 8 related...
but might be wrong there.. will find out in the next days..i am back on L7 now and will have a full production week now...

be sure to let us know how it goes for you =)

I'm using live 7 and upgrading OSX to 10.5 soon, but I am tempted to go straight for 10.6

There are currently no known issues with the latest update (7.0.18). Older versions of 7 will crash on Snow Leopard when you use the "complex" warp mode. Live 6 (or older) will not work on Snow Leopard.

Please elaborate! How are you finding Logic running better? Cheers!
