ableton mapping question, how is this done?

Hey friends,

i am trying to figure out how to create / map up / layer an instrument in ableton so that i could lay a range of different samples out across a vst / sampler of some sort and then play them with a midi keyboard. do you guys have any idea how i could do this within ableton? thanks ^_^

Hello,

It´s easy using Sampler: http://www.ableton.com/sampler
Just drop the samples into the Zone editor/sample layer list and create the desired
key zones for each sample.

with an instrument rack, you can achieve the same with a combination of sample-based and synthesis-based instruments/sounds
