Midi Reset

I've just been putting some old songs that were on Cakewalk before it had audio onto live on a Roland 1080 and another old synth. Will be turning them into audi but I have noticed when the midi hung no reset or midi panic can I see in live to stop it, in cakewalk it used to be 'the scream'.
Also I was thinking of using a novation launch pad but people on this forum have mentioned that it seems to use a lot of midi channels and at the moment that could play havoc with what I am doing. Does an apc40 suffer the same transmitting data on lots of midi channels, I am using native kontrol on a korg pad control which has a mode for launching clips from the session view and this does not cause any midi problems. Yes I do know my pad control has a panic notes off but I can't be bothered to come out of native kontrol to press it when I should be able to assign a button to kill all notes or is midi dead?
