Ability to enter data in Battery etc in Live

Hi, i know theres something you can edit in the config file that lets you enter data in Battery 3 for example - say i wanted to type in "12" for the pitch rather than move the pitch knob - at the moment nothing happens when i try to do this, i know its because ive reinstalled Live on a new setup and the default is obviously opposite to what i want
anyone know what im on about?
