Thanks everyone. I agree about the length. I think it was an amateur mistake on my part. I shot so much footage and was so concerned about the story that I forgot a 6 1/2 minute song can get tiring.

I'll go ahead and edit this down to the radio mix this weekend.

The length thing got me to thinking about how long dance tracks are even after you subtract the DJ friendly intro and outro and when compared to other genres there really isn't that much change going on to keep you interested in a lengthy track, yet a well crafted and mixed song doesn't make you go "does this monotonous shit ever end!". I guess for a brief moment I'm relating to those that don't really like electronic dance music because they are making that exact statement. I get it!

But dance music really didn't start getting basic, repetative, and vocal-free until the 90's. When I listen to some of the dance tracks I thought were mind blowing in the 90's they were basically an unedited drum loop with 2 or 3 synths over it, and for variety all they did was drop a synth part of maybe do an octave change. Wow.

The extended remixes of the 80's usually had vocals and followed the verse/bridge/chorus/repeat pattern. They extended different parts that would go over better on the dance floor. Now extended remixes (or even standard length) are "here's a minute-thirty of the same".
