live 4.03 doesn't react to midi control messages anymore...?

I can monitor the control change messages coming from my microKontrol or the evolution usb-keyboard, but live doesn't react anymore.
The microKOntrol and Evolution midi ports appear in the Live midi preferences and I have enabled them. Midi Channel and CC numers are correct.
What else can be wrong?

the midi remote preference was set to none. maybe one has to reset these preferences with every Live upgrade.
