Hi albtoner's
A very simple problem so it seemed a while ago.
I use reason/record and have just migrated all my song data to live.
Now I like the idea That if you map a pitch of a sample to my bcr2000 controller any sample you press on the session veiw in the novation launchpad can be pitched.
In fact its cool enough to want to use it in my live performances constantly.
The problem is I want to map a button to my bcr2000 that will default the pitch back to centre instantly, without having to fiddle around with the encoder on the bcr2000.
Maybe it's because I want the flexibility of the combinator in reason macro editing or I'm just not programming the right thing in ableton.
But this is really frustrating me .
Any help would be apreciated.
James
Master global default button???
Re: Master global default button???
I don't have a full on solution, but I can tell you the things I know.
1. Are you using relative or absolute MIDI control when tweeking the pitch? If you are using relative, you get the bonus of not having to worry about the knob position from clip to clip messing up your previous pitch setting. If you are using an absolute control knob, you can assign a button to the same MIDI CC# as the knob, and have it set to something like 64. (I actually am not 100% sure how accurate that would be..
2. Another way to tweek the pitch of a clip is by assigning a keyboard range to that channel. When you go into MIDI Assign mode, you can assign the play button on any of the channels to a key on your keyboard. If you hold down a key, but also hold down an upper and lower register key, you are now mapping the clips to play at whatever pitch you play on the keyboard relative to the clip's original pitch. It is even more fun when you throw Legato mode into the mix and a very low quantization setting.
Hope those gave you some ideas to play with

Re: Master global default button???
Thanks for the responce.
No the cc msg is only relative to individual samples pressed or activated by the launchpad, which why its so cool.
I just want to have the same global pitch deault control that just resets the sample activated.
Seems really simple.
Is it possible to macro the pitch control through a button that has a base and final parameter of 64?.
And if its on a common control such an encoder on the bcr2000 pitch control of a sample will it then be global like that for a button?.
I'm always hitting solid walls with ableton programming :0(.
Especially on something so simple and basic as this.
I still like the concept of it though.

WTF nothing??????????
Seriously no takers here even from the hardcore users.
Does this lead me to believe you cannot do this???
Something as elementary as this!!!!!!!!!!!.
Where else can find out if this can be done.
Obviously the ableton forums are not the place.
