in Live 1.5 for X, which i am running in 10.2.1 on an iBook 600, i am finding it impossible to get the Live browser to recognize any of my 90+ VST plugins (NOT instruments), despite making sure the path was set correctly in prefs...
anybody having a simliar problem? care to shed some light?

Are your plug-ins carbonized?
Only carbonized VST plug-ins will show up in Live (and work). Many plug-ins that worked under OS 9 will likely not work under OS X.
If you have Spark ME, LE or LE Plus, you can check if your VST effects work there.
If you get an error message, the plug-in is not OS X-compatible and you'll have to get a carbonized version of the plug-in, if you are fortunate and it is available from the developer.
