good orchestra samples/wav. Live packs?
I used to have a good orchestra pack for Reason 3.0 way long ago. Are there any good orchestra packs out there - good cellos, violas, for Ableton - live packs, or packs of wavs?

dunno what you need, but EIC2 has some in there in racks. I suppose it depends on what you mean by 'good', but since you're referencing reason and not some $2k string sample library, it might be as good as that. I think it sounds decent as strings, especially with some reverb, but there isn't much in the way of articulations... you pretty much get all the standard string bow/plucked and standard woodwind samples, as well as some orchestral brass.
if you don't mind working with VSTs, there is the free version of EWQL Strings, there is a free pizzicato (iirc) string patch at cinematic strings, and the current sampletank group buy, which has a symphonic strings capsule. If you live in Canada you can get the 7GB version of Miroslav for $99 as well from long & mcquade (I haven't seen any way to ship to the US, but i haven't tried that hard yet... i shouldn't really be spending another $99 right now).
one other option I'm still working on... dunno how far this will get you, but there are two string sample CDROMs. They are going to be a lot more work for you than something like any of the above, but Kontakt Player can convert banks from Roland/Emu/Kurzweil CDRoms to Kontakt format, and if you have Sampler, Sampler can import Kontakt libraries. So you can get them in that way. The Emu orchestral CDROM (volume 3) is particularly cheap on Ebay, sometimes $10. Roland Solo Strings sounds pretty good too. There's a prosamples version of Siedlaczek's Advanced Orchestra - Solo Strings too, you can get these for pretty cheap I think. Those are limited editions of larger libraries, but one advantage is that they also have exs24 instruments, which sampler will also import. Here's a link to orchestral loops for $10:
