FCB UnO users, stomp box mode
FCB UnO users, stomp box mode
I bought the Uno chip loads ago and have now installed it...but i cannot for the life of remember why I wanted stomp box mode. Actually direct select work sgreat for me now all I want to do is call up guitar rig patches.
but out of interest, those who do use stomp box mode, a) how did you get it working and b) what do you use it for?

I use stomp box mode so that I can use the top row of foot switches to turn effects on/off in ableton. The LEDs will work differently - they turn on/off with each press, instead of only one footswitch being lit up at a time.
I use the FCB editor app to turn the mode on, and program it.

I have turned on stomp box mode but can't seem to get it to map to anything. I've tried with CC and note, and nowt. Sure theres somethign I'm missing.
As I say, Direct Select is actually what I am after now as all my Live control is done via APC/MPK plus footswitches.
Would just be nice to get it working and see if theres any benefit.

Re: FCB UnO users, stomp box mode
I got the recent uno chip as it was fairly cheap and hoped it would make the FCB 1010 more user friendly but the programming is still hard work mainly due to the limited scope of the display panel.
I'm using the PC editor but believe the ripwerks is supposed to be better (although the download link appears to be deactivated.
For me the FCB 1010 has taken up a lot of time for limited benefit and this is a shame as the ergonomics of the pedals / switches is very good

I kind of got in tune with programming the beast, we like connected mentally.
But I agree, i found it limited, used it live a few times and its useful but I resurrected it just to change patches and the like in the studio so direct select does the job. flit to the patch you want, ncie and easy like.

I haven't given up on it yet and will try using it to directly control my Arturia Origin synth
and avoid software MIDI control which I reckon causes some of the problems experienced.
BTW how did you find removing & fitting the EPROMs. Bit of a sweat for me when wrenching out with the pliers!
Re: FCB UnO users, stomp box mode
You know. I didn't even take care with the old one and bent the little pins...
But I put the new one in carefully.
I'll never sell it now, I tried and the price was so poor it made it not worth it, so it will stay UnO'd up and ready to roll in the studio.!
