Apologies if this has come up already (and I imagine it has), but is anyone aware of ANY manufacturer who produces a fast, decent-sized, multi-touch tablet PC? I know Apple doesn't make anything that quite fits the bill yet, but it seems with Windows 7 and all the hype about multi-touch monitors someone would be on this. And it seems like the Ableton crowd would be early adopters, since we're all looking for fast, portable systems, and we're all hyped about the likes of the lemur and low-cost substitutes a la TouchOSC etc.
I just think it's weird that there's this void in the market, after all these years. The few tablets available are invariably Atom netbooks, which are useless to me, excepting a couple of willfully unsexy convertibles from Fujitsu.
Who wouldn't kill for a 15" multitouch tablet running Windows 7 on a Core i5, with optical drive and keyboard external and optional, to keep things nice and light? Or for that matter, a multi-touch Mac Book Pro minus the keyboard? It seems to me that if you can sell an $800 iPad, you could certainly find a market for a $2000 tablet PC with some balls, no?
