Scene launch causing tracks to be locked in arrangement view

Hi,

I have the following problem:
As soon as I launch a scene in session view (only once is enough), all the tracks become locked in arrangement view (they get greyed out as soon as I hit play). This has the effect that all content (audio and midi) within the tracks will not be played back anymore. The only exception beeing when I record the content from the tracks directly from session view.

Is this the way it is, or am I missing something?

So what exactly is the purpose of this mechanic? Or, to pose the question differently, what does it mean that the current state differs?
