time of a song in thed arrangement view

When you're putting a sample or a song in the arrangement view, is it possible to know the time (min., sec) of this clip. In example if I want to cut the first 30 seconds a clip, how I do that....

All you need to do is turn off warping. Warping is a cool feature of Live that is useful in a lot of situations, but it changes how the time of clips is displayed into "beats". If all you need is to play the clip, straight-forward and nothing fancy, just double-click on the clip to go to it's "clip view", then click the yellow "warp" button. Viola, it will now display in hours, minutes, seconds, etc.

You can also change the warp setting in Preferences > Record Warp Launch

If this is how you will always be working, what you are probably looking for is the Auto-Warp Long Samples option. Just turn it off.

Hope that helps!
