Crossfader on the zero sl mkll wont map!

I searched for this answer and can not find out why its not working. I hit the midi button at the top right in ableton. I click on the crossfader in ableton then move the crossfader on the sl mkll and it wont map. It will with other buttons and i no it should be assignable. What am i doing wrong?

can you map other sliders (volume or whatever) with the crossfader?
If you can't. Check in Automap if you get value from the crossfader, maybe it is defective.
(maybe automap doesn't have this feature, I don't own one myself)

Make sure you've got the Track/Remote settings correct on the Mk2, If you've not got the Remote button lit on the correct midi input it won't work. Also you might have to be in a non-automap template. I flogged my Remote SL for this kinda piffling about!
