Can you VDJ with Ableton live?

I searched, but couldn't find a current answer. Apparently there used to be a plugin called "just add music", but it is no longer available.

Is there any other way to DJ videos with ableton?

Yes you can, with Jitter you can do anything, Look for VIP5 a free max program to vj as standalone but easy you can implement in LIVE

Ah, thanks. So the only way to do it involves me spending more $$$ on Max4Live?

I guess I'll just wait for bridge - hopefully that'll allow me to use my video-sl with ableton.

You can use the MIDI from Live to trigger other programs like Arkaos Grand VJ, Resolume Avenue, Modul8 etc etc etc, anything that takes MIDI input.

There are way better options for VDJ, serato, Virtual DJ etc... video djing is a bit simplistic imho but these software do it well.

Serato and virtual dj do the job, very simply. Just as a couple of vinyl decks used to do the job with mixing audio. But ableton live is so much more: its an flexible live instrument, production tool, and effects unit, its visual counterpart should have these exact same features for visuals.
