Cardbus soundcard and Express Card adapter

Post by killakarachi » Tue May 25, 2010 7:52 am

Hi all. A curly one I've also posted on the Echo forum.
So, My specs:
Macbook Pro 2.33, 4gig RAM (Yes I know it only addresses 3 gig)
Layla 24 with Cardbus card - well I'm using an NI Audio 2 DJ at the mo and something else if I can't get this sorted
OSX 10.6.3
Live 8.1.1

So the problem is this: I've been using Mac for most of my sequencing and musical ideas on the Macbook pro as this contains all of my NI plugins/ synths etc
However my primary card for recording is my ever reliable Echo Layla 24, which I have the PCI card for and the cardbus adapter.
Of course, Apple decided to only have the new express card slot on my mac which left me with a useless Carbus adapter - until now.
I've bought the Apple recommended Cardbus to express card adapter which works fine.
However - the Layla is picked up by the Mac in System Profiler as "Multimedia Device" but says it doesn't have a driver installed -
The device is greyed out in the rmove icon at the top of the Window.
So, I was hoping that someone may have found a driver or solution for this as will save me having to buy a new soundcard.
My Layla is stil a great device and I'd rather save up for an APC 40 :)
Any ideas or solutions would be most welcome
Thanks
