Is it possible to move a region in the arrangement window vertically ( to another track below or above ) while maintaining its horizontal position ( right/left position untouched ) ?
The grid is good if you work within bars/ beats but not if one needs it to be sample accurate.
I'm trying to figure out wether Live can handle very basic editing for post and even music and being able to move/nudge things around within sample and frame accuracy is a must. Thanks

Did you see the answer on the other thread in Support?
When you start moving a clips you can press alt (PC) or cmd (Mac) and you'll see a green marker which will allow you to snap it to it's original position. Don't know if it's sample accurate exactly as of course the time-line tempo is variable but it should be equivalent.

there must be a key command for this; maybe do a search. As a Pro Tools user, I've always found editing in Live to be clumsy for me. Although, editing in any other daw also feels clumsy to me. Anyway, I'm sure there HAS to be a key command to hold down while you drag the audio vertically to maintain is horizontal positioning.
You can also simply copy the audio region, then use the arrow down key and the track below it will be highlit in yellow, then paste and you've got sample accurate movement vertically while maintaining horizontal positioning.
