APC40 users - how much do you use the crossfader?

Just curious.

Trying to decide between that and a Launchpad (for live use) and the crossfader is sticking out to me as useful. Any thoughts?

I used it. Set all of my channels to A, and then I have one channel on the B that I kinda use for re-sampling with a looper. Means I can take samples of stuff I'm playing and then free up the channels to start doing new things, and fade between them smoothly in the DJ style. Can also be sued as a kind of global wet/dry that also completely cuts the dry signal at the extreme.

its defently usefull.. if szise is no issue you are defently better off with an apc as controler..

The launchpad is anyway quite big itself, its really not necessary to be able to operate controlers with your feet..

I like using it for 'beat juggling' sorta things. Put a delay on a send track (set to pre fader), and the drum track set to 'A' and the send set to 'B'. Set the delay to 2/16. Slide the crossfader from left to right for stuttery juggled fun.

Something like this is good for 'Screwed & Chopped' fun too, though I do it the hard way with two copies of the track running with the chopping in copy an 8th note ahead of the other. I don't have an APC tho, I use the crossfader on my crap-ass X-Session pro.

Used it in my live set last night actually. I had all the drum / percussion channels mapped to A, but nothing mapped to B (although I like the ideas other people have posted around beat juggling - will definitely investigate that!). It gave me a quick 'n dirty way to drop out all the beats and leave the melodic parts playing, then bring the beats back in just as quick. Good fun!
