Live 8 crashes on idle

Post by Sugglew » Thu Jul 08, 2010 4:52 am

Hello

If I leave Live idle for more than about 15 mins it can no longer playback audio. When I try to play audio it freezes and I have to close Live. Then upon reopening the audio card is disabled and when I re-enable it it more often than not cannot play audio once more. With M-audio's advice I've disabled power saving in both windows and the BIOS. It didn't resolve the issue.

Basically, if I leave the room to make a sandwich now I usually just shut down the computer and turn it back on when I return to avoid the annoyance.

The audio card (firewire 1814) reports full functionality at all times through nonsense and I have Live up and running properly on another system.

Another, perhaps related issue, is that if I open a live set on my slave drive it just perpetually says "buffering samples" until I ctrl-alt-del ableton.

Hopefully this is something obvious.

To update: I'm having trouble with other software so it's likely a system/FW1814 issue. Still, any ideas are appreciated.
