Playing a party tonight w/ a friend running Serato.

So far my girlfriend and I have practiced together, her using decks and Serato and me using ableton. We haven't done anything intense and I've just used one of her channels on the mixer for my input. However tonight we are renting some sound and I wanted to make sure the setup i'm contemplating is correct.


My mac running Ableton>into external sound interface via Firewire

Her Mixer>into 2 inputs on the internal sound interface

External Sound Interface outputs(2)>self powered monitors or amp with monitors.

this in theory would allow us to both perform also allowing me to control the output of her mixer through ableton when the input is enable. (sorry for the run on)

Does this make sense to you guys? Greatly Appreciated.

I honestly wouldn't run her decks through the computer.....delays, clicks...etc.

Let her run into the mixer as normal....run you outputs from your soundcard to the extra channels on the mixer.....

run the mixer to the amp/ FOH speaker.
