I tested out the new iRig on an analog synth...
Check it out:

Yes, there's some guitar in there. And bass. But there's something for the electronic musician too. The iRig just started shipping today, so you could go get one at a place the sells them. They're $40 USD. The full AmpliTube app with the Wah and Phaser and such is $20, but the free app with Delay and Distortion is fun to mess around with too.

Your post is not wasted on me. I've been jamming my iRig and amplitube on my iPod touch all night!!
SUPERB!!!
I have four new songs to learn for a band gig July 30th, uploaded the four songs via the wireless link from my lappie to amplitube, dial up my presets in amplitube and jam along learning the songs as I go.
Totally, totally awesome.
It's so good I'm thinking of using it as my signal processor instead of my macbook and guitar rig for gigs and rehearsals. The latency is almost non existent, the tone is fantastic, the effects brilliant.
I can now tak my guitar and a lead, my ipod and the iRig and I am ready to play...anywhere.
Unbelievable bit of kit.

It's awesome, agreed. I can control my band's guitarist sound now, so we can actually play the same instrument together. The ipod version has limited screen space, if the ipad specific release adds more controls, it's the end for our reharsal efficiency times
Live 9 Suite, audio trackles (several audio tracks that crackle)

That's a really cool idea. You could make good use of the tap tempo button in the Tools section.abletoff wrote:It's awesome, agreed. £25ish for the iRig and £11.99 for the full app. A bloody steal...

Yeah, the neck on my Thunderbird is looooooong. I had to schooch the camera back a bit when I started playing that one.Rave wrote:Looks like u were about to take the camera out with your head stock![]()

Sorry Sam, I meant the apple iproduct. Neither the iphone or ipad is at all cheap in NZ. Good video tho, mate!!Hidden Driveways wrote:Unless I'm not understanding something... the iObject is included at that price.Pitch Black wrote:* iObject not includedUKRuss wrote:£25ish for the iRig and £11.99 for the full app. A bloody steal...*

Not at home at the mo', so....is there 2 different apps? 1 for iPhone/iPod Touch and 1 for the iPad? If there's just 1 app does it translate differently on the iPad or is it a X2 app?

Using the iphone version on me ipad now, it goes 2X but it's definitely not ugly. Ik spoke about a specific ipad version coming soon. Honestly if the iphone version is this good I can only imagine the bigger app to be the same but better. The only gripe is there's no way to rearrange the fx chian on the fly, you have to switch pedals in theri respective slots. Not so handy, but then you can set up presets. Clearly Native Instruments has some work to do.

None of the screen shots on iTunes show that kind of layout and I would think on the iPhone if there was that kind of layout it would be hard to see and adjust things because it would be so tiny. Am I wrong?

The presets work though, but then of course the problem is how do you change through them while playing the guitar...some kind of foot controller beckons.abletoff wrote:Using the iphone version on me ipad now, it goes 2X but it's definitely not ugly. I love the 'tilt' option for controlling the wah pedal though. I think if I velcro the iPod onto my guitar, I can just wah by tilting the guitar body....nice.
